“Unicorn Building was recommended to us by a professional hydraulic engineer to locate the source of water flooding into the lower level of our home during heavy rains and to provide remediation. Previous efforts by reputable plumbers had been unsuccessful. Unicorn quickly located and repaired a damaged stormwater drain pipe and identified additional drainage problems.

Unicorn proposed a solution to collect and dispose of surface water. They worked quickly and thoroughly. All labour was provided by members of the extended family which owns Unicorn Building. They were very easy to work with, accommodating our requests / suggestions when possible, and proposing selection of materials and design alternatives to provide an attractive and durable completed project. Unicorn worked to schedule and within cost estimates.

We were so pleased that we engaged Unicorn for two additional projects: the demolition and replacement of an aging wooden deck and the repair of a masonry wall surrounding our front yard.
The deck was replaced with a steel structure, long-lasting man-made decking and steel and glass railings. Once again, Unicorn’s design and materials knowledge and recommendations were keys to the project’s success.

Finally, the masonry wall required stripping and repair of blistering and peeling paint and render, applying a durable top coat, and painting.
